Running App Promo
This whole idea started because… I suck at running. Like, really.
I’m into strength training and calisthenics, but when it comes to cardio, I have less endurance than a decorative pillow.
So instead of pretending I know what I’m doing, I decided to turn it into a learning moment (again) and make something funny, useful, and honest.
The goal was simple: motivate myself to run better… and maybe actually go on a run y’know?
I started by writing a script that felt personal, a little self-deprecating, but actually educational. I knew I wanted it to be short, 15 to 20 seconds max, because let’s face it, attention spans are shorter than my runs, and the idea was to publish it on social media. So I had to take into account all the things that make a social media post actually made for social media.

The Design Part
Once I had the script, I broke it down into visual beats. I designed the storyboard: I kept this part very quick because to be honest I really wanted to get into the animation part as quickly as possible. I was excited about the idea. I always plan things well before animating (makes the animation process easier), but this time I wanted to experiment more, especially since it was a style experiment.
I then designed all of the elements in photoshop, following this “photo” style that I had in mind. The decision to use this kind of style came from an animator I love with a very unique style. He’s Ento Incognito and I really wanted to try to make something similar. The amount of work that goes behind this is incredible!

Conclusion
At the end this whole running situation made me think of a very famous meme that I’m sure lots of people know, so I thought, why not add it at the end? It’s social media after all, there’s no need to be that serious all the time.
Did this motivate me to go on a run? YES, but I still have a long way to go especially in terms of consistency. Hopefully one day I’ll be a better runner. But hey, if I’m going to struggle to improve, I might as well do it in style.
